Knowing that Mint is quite a scaredy-cat when it come to thrill rides, I was prepared to go the entire day without taking a single thrill ride.
However, I was pleasantly surprised when she agreed to take a few thrill rides with me. I even asked her a couple of times while we were queuing for the ride if she was sure she wanted to go on it.
I guess that's what they call courage. It's not not being afraid, but rather no letting your fear affect your decision to do things!

The Proposal Ring from Wish Diamonds

This is where it all started.
After almost 2 years of romance as a couple, Colin decided that it was time to take things to the next stage. However, he was clueless about how to find the perfect proposal ring for his fiancee-to-be. But as if by fate, Mint introduced him to her favourite primary school teacher, whom she managed to find on facebook after more than a decade of separation! Coincidently, this primary school teacher introduced us to a company doing custom-made jewellery.
Wish Diamonds has stayed pretty low key on social media, and usually spreads their brand through word of mouth from happy customers. (Like us!) It was quite fascinating to learn that not only are they able to craft out almost any customised design of jewellery that you can think of, from rings, broaches, necklaces, bracelets, anklets and even accessories, they are also great at sourcing for any diamonds and gems that you might want to add on to accentuate your jewellery even more.

Her Feels
Wow! Such a stroke of luck! Looks like I'll be able to save a bomb on my proposal ring get a bigger, better proposal ring for my fiancee-to-be while still keeping within my budget.
I was worried that Colin would spend too much on our proposal ring long before he proposed, so I decided to introduce him to my favourite primary school teacher after knowing that she has a strong recommendation for a bespoke custom-made jewellery boutique which is also credible & help couples work closely within their budget.
After many secret meet-ups with the owners of Wish Diamonds, Colin decided on a 0.9 carat diamond, with almost perfect clarity, set on a white gold, tiffany setting ring. This diamond was personally sourced by Wish Diamonds, and we are ever so grateful for that. Not only was the workmanship of the ring wonderful, the entire process from the first meet-up to the delivery of the ring took only about 2 months!
With the ring box now safely hidden in one of the compartments of his briefs organiser drawer, Colin was now ready to plan on how to pop the big question. Read on to find out how the not-so-surprise proposal turned out.
So if you are looking for a special jewellery piece for a special occasion, or thinking of getting something unique as a gift or present, look no further than Wish Diamonds for really good craftsmanship, customer-oriented service and most importantly, peace-of-mind knowing that you will be getting a really good deal.

Mint's Beauty Prep

oneFirst Garden ROM - 3 Oct 2016

It's not just about being vain.
Brides-to-be would need that extra self-confidence on their big day.
We have to smile and pose for the cameras, videos, selfies as well as families and guests, for long hours.
It's only natural that we'd want to look fresh, happy and well-groomed.
Beauty is an art. A very tedious art. It is not by chance that brides are always said to be the most beautiful on their wedding day. What you don't see in those photos are the countless hours of hard work and preparation by the hair and make-up artists, the inhumane diets and the vigorous exercise routines that the beautiful bride had to endure.
On a side note, I was still binging on milk chocolate bars the night before. HAHA.
The only feature that troubles me the most, is my round button nose. I was always envious of ladies with sharp and defined noses. My spectacles always seem to be floating because it does not rest on my nose bridge!
Luckily for me, I met Dr Zhang from Shiro Aesthetics Clinic.
Her Feels
Please please please, let there be pimple-free, non-frizzy hair, unchipped nails and bright eyes for me on my big day."
#FingersCross

Dr Zhang was the same doctor who had done my nose fillers for me 2 years ago and I felt safe in his hands. Hence, I decided I should revisit him for the best aesthetic advice.
This Wang Li Hom lookalike was very professional as he listened to my concerns and provided his recommendations on which were the best procedures that would allow me to achieve the enhancements that I was looking for. After a consultation session with him, where he rigorously assessed my face, his recommendation was that I shouldn't be looking for too much enhancements, but instead focus on raising my nose bridge. So in the end, I opted for a nose threading procedure.
I was extremely satisfied with the immediate results!
My experience on Shiro Aesthetics Clinic & Doctor Zhang:
❤ The clinic is clean, neat and calming.
❤ Dr Zhang is such a caring person.
❤ The resting seat & procedure felt comfortable!
❤ Painless because I applied enough numbing cream.
SO MUCH LOVE.

After getting the engagement ring and safely hiding it away in his underwear organiser drawer, Colin had the perfect surprise proposal plan in his head.
1. Have a fun day enjoying the rides and shows at Hong Kong Disneyland.
2. Bring her to the best place to watch the daily evening fireworks show.
3. Pop the big question before the fireworks show. (And hopefully she says Yes)
4. Enjoy our very first fireworks show as Fiance and Fiancee.

Filing our Notice of Marriage with ROM - 2 Jul 2016

He even pre-ordered a bouquet of Mint's favourite rainbow roses and arranged with the Disneyland staff to have them delivered during the proposal.
But what he didn't expect was Mint's exceptional detective skills. She managed to find out about both the proposal and ring even before they left Singapore for the trip. :( Luckily for him, she didn't probe further to find out all the details.
We enjoyed the day exploring Mint's favouritest place in the whole world, and by 7pm, she thought that Colin was not going ahead with the proposal any more, because she already found out about it. Then, to her surprise, a Disneyland staff snuck up the bouquet of rainbow roses and after a sheepish speech, Colin got down to one knee and popped the big question!
But the biggest surprise was when Mint's bff, Silver, and her sister, Hui Xian, appeared from nowhere to witness that magical moment! Unknown to Mint, both of them had been playing hide-and-seek in Disneyland with Mint and Colin throughout the entire day!

After that, we caught the fireworks together and had a wonderful japanese dinner to celebrate the successful proposal.
Thank you Silver Ang and Hui Xian for flying down all the way to Hong Kong just for this. It wouldn't have been the same without both of you here!
For those of you who are interested in our playtime at Hong Kong Disneyland, here's a quick recap of our exciting day in Disneyland!

We took the MTR from Tsim Sha Tsui to Sunny Bay Station and boarded the special Disney train. They even have comfortable couches and Mickey-shaped hand grips! Screams! Telling you about this right now makes us want to go again!
Onward to HK Disneyland~
Soon we arrived at the Disneyland resort station.
Stitch poster alert! Spot the tears of joy in Mint's eyes.
Mint loves Stitch so much because of the bonded value that's being conveyed through the movie. The tagline "Ohana means Family. And family means no one gets left behind" left a deep impression on her heart.
Stitch is a rejected specimen from outer-space, but even this supposedly 'bad thing' learns and is committed to hold such a strong value within. When Lilo was taken away, he risked his life to save her. This gesture has greatly inspired Mint even till this day. Watch out Stitch merchendise, there's a fan coming for you!

The first thing that we did was actually to take a fun panorama photo shot. Did you know that you can clone yourself a few times in 1 panorama shot?
1. You need a very BIG SPACE.
2. You need to run very fast!
3. Your cameraman needs to take the panoramic image super slowly.
4. You need to be in a place where there are as little humans walking behind as possible.
HOW TO DO IT
1. Pose for the camera while your friend starts to take the panorama picture
2. Tell your friend to say 'ok' once you're out of frame.
3. Your friend has to continue to pan the camera but really really slowly. If the camera stops moving, so will the panorama function.
4. Start to Run. As fast as you can. Run towards your cameraman, AROUND and BEHIND that person to your next point with a different pose.
5. Repeat Steps 2 to 4 a few more times
Here's our best pano shots on Main U.S.A. Street after a couple of tiring retakes.

His Thoughts
His Thoughts
Our first stop was to catch The Lion King live action show at Adventure Land.
The Lion King is my favouritest Disney movie because the story really tugs at the heartstrings of the audience and spans across values like friends, family, courage and responsibility. Not to mention that it is also one of the very few Disney movies that actually shows the death of a main character.
The live action show was filled with talented performers retelling the story through song and dance, and even adding in some acrobatic moves. There were also moving animatronic animals that appeared throughout different parts of the story. Oh, and did I mention fire too? It's definitely a show that everyone should catch at Disneyland. I'll definitely be back to catch it again the next time!

After the show, we went to explore Tarzan's treehouse, followed by Bryani and Nasi Lemak for lunch. The sambal sauce and papadum were one of the best we have eaten in our lives. Not too spicy, yet tasty enough to compliment the papadum. It was so good that Mint ordered a second plate. Oh, and check out their interesting way of spelling 'Roti Prata'.
If you are looking at our food photos and wondering what that lumpy sausage looking thing is, don't worry, it is NOT poop! It's actually a delicious combination of minced mutton with cinnamon and spices.

Now that we are all energised and ready to go, it was time to try out all the rides in Disneyland! Here's a list of the rides and shows that we managed to try out before the end of the day:
Mint-friendly Kid-friendly Rides
- Stitch Encounter (Yay! Stitch!)
- The Cinderella Carousel
- Autopia (we took quite a long time to queue for this)
- It's a Small World
- Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters (Our Favourite ride!)
For the Thrill Seekers
- Toy Soldier Parachute Drop
- Toy Story RC Racer

His Thoughts
It amazes me that all the rides at Disneyland are entertaining and fun to ride even for adults. Nothing was too childish, everything was engaging and even taking a carousel feels romantic! (Although I almost puked with all that turning round and round)
With all the adults taking every other ride with me, I feel at ease being a child once more. I like that no one judges anyone else. I had so much fun!
The thrill rides we took at Toy Story land drained all the energy out of me, especially the car racer ride. I had no more courage left to take the roller coaster ride at the Grizzly Gulch. Sorry boyfriend!
Her Feels
As the sky turned dark, we headed back to to U.S.A. Main Street to catch the fireworks show. Colin got Mint a coke to share and keep disappearing suspiciously. While he was away, Mint managed to take a selfie with the creative coke bottle. Then he brought her up to the Main Train Station, which was supposedly closed and even had a sign stating that the area was out of bounds. And this was where the magic began...
While Mint was taking in the nighttime view of Disneyland, Colin appeared behind her with a bouquet of rainbow roses. A few seconds later, 2 shadowy figures were spotted joining us at the top of the Main Train Station. They were none other than Silver and Hui Xian, who coincidently became our impromptu videographer and photographer.
After a teary "yes" from Mint, we spent the next hour enjoying the signature fireworks over the castle and taking lots of selfies...

Here's a closer look at Mint's breathtaking rainbow roses with baby breath flowers. They are REAL and Colin got them specially imported for the proposal!
These beautiful flowers are definitely going to be our wedding flowers.
Everything was so magical it felt like a dream, even when we were homebound on board Jetstar, but with a new title of Fiance and Fiancee.
But it seems like Colin wasn't affected by the engagement or new status at all!
And of course what is a holiday without showing off our holiday loots?

Here's some mushy mushy stuff that I wish to dedicate to MyDreamGuy.
Awww come on, you know I'm the most fortunate girl in the world!
My love at first sight actually proposed to me at a magical place, with my favourite flowers that are so difficult to get and this extremely beautiful ding ding (diamond ring)?
I pray that our love will sparkle brightly and be strong like the diamond i wear, always beautiful and happy like the rainbow roses you gave to me. The vibrant colours of the roses represent the colourful world that we will continue to build with our own hands.
One First - The only one and always the first you'll be placed in my heart.
I want to grow old with you, hand in hand.
Thank you for everything you have done for me, thank you for always being there and loving me back more and more each day, Colin Chang aka One First.
Cheers to our new beginning. Love is in the air. Let it grow.
